I'm feeling pretty good today. Fall is here and the weather in Amarillo is delightful! I took about a mile and a half walk this morning while listening to the new James Taylor cd "Covers". It is great!

The gym is going well. I am pumped about doing something I never thought I would do there...create a special class for special needs kids...autistic ones in particular. I've been teaching a little boy for the last two years who was diagnosed shortly before coming to me. When he grew out of the mom/pop/tot class he was in, I decided to experiment and allow his mother to assist him in a regular class for 2 and 3 year olds (where parents do not normally assist). He has made tremendous progress in the last month...so much so that we are rounding up other autistic children to start a new class with a format designed just for them.

George went to Colorado last weekend to experience a one man retreat right before he rolled over another year in his life. He had a great time except for the blow-out he had on his jeep en route. His brand new tire was replaced when he returned home. His real birthday (Monday) was somewhat less eventful, but Nate came over to celebrate that night with chicken fried steak and white chocolate pound cake. Nate turned 32 on Tuesday. Wow! How can he be that old!
