Kicking off Fall

We have just returned from an 11 day car trip to the Eastern and Midwestern part of the United States. Fall classes are under way in a big way at the gym, and we are trying to catch our breath. Olympic years always tend to be good years for enrollment and this one is no different.

Our trip was a good one. We caught up with one of George's old army buddies and an Amarillo friend's father on separate occasions in Tennessee, my sister and her family in Virginia, and my parents and sister in Wisconsin. Our best buddy on the trip was a talking Tom Tom GPS (affectionately named "Ms. TT") we purchased on the first leg of the journey. It taunted us with "turn around as soon as possible" several times when we decided to take some unscheduled side trips, but maneuvered us through Chicago as if we really knew where we were going. 100 thousand plus Harley Davidson motorcycles enroute to Milwaukee greeted us both coming and going through several of the states. People from all over the nation congregated there for Harley's 105th birthday celebration.

We had intended on camping as much as possible along the way, but four solid days of rain guided us right to some comfortable motels instead. I think our next vacation may be a destination all inclusive type thing. Guess I'd better start saving!

We're glad to be home. Check out some of the photos from our trip.
